What the result means

The chamber fits without additional runs.

  • 01

The roof profile is currently assessed as low pollution.

  • 02

The total volume is divided evenly across four downspouts.

  • 03

The required chamber length fits within the available straight-pipe height.

Simple math, practical result

From roof wash to a buildable chamber.

  1. 1

    Assess the roof

Nearby trees, animals, dust, traffic and maintenance change how much initial runoff should be discarded.

  2. 2

    Calculate the wash

One millimetre of rain over one square metre produces one litre, so roof area and diversion depth establish the target volume.

  3. 3

    Test the hardware

The calculator converts gallons into chamber length and checks the result against the number of downspouts and available space.
