Plain-language summary: We use personal information to operate the site, respond to you, provide quotes, process orders, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not currently sell personal data or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to the Buffalo Rain Harvesters website and related online services operated by Buffalo Rain Harvesters in Buffalo, Texas. It does not govern a third party's website or service simply because we link to it.
2. Information we collect
- Contact and project information, such as your name, email, phone number, property or project details, location, and messages.
- Account information, such as your email, profile details, encrypted password credentials, account verification status, and account activity.
- Order and fulfillment information, such as products, quantities, delivery address, transaction status, and customer-service history.
- Technical and security information, such as IP address, request metadata, timestamps, and records used to secure accounts, limit abuse, and diagnose errors.
- Browser storage, including cart contents, resource progress, and limited site preferences stored on your device.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the website; respond to inquiries; prepare quotes; create and maintain accounts; process, deliver, and support orders; communicate service or transaction updates; detect fraud or misuse; keep business records; improve our products and services; and comply with law. We do not treat a quote or contact request as consent to unrelated marketing messages.
4. Payments
Online card entry is handled on Square's secure checkout service. Buffalo Rain Harvesters does not receive or store your full payment-card number or CVV. Square processes payment information under its own privacy terms.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use a required session cookie for signed-in accounts and limited security cookies for authorized administrative preview access. Cart contents and some resource progress are stored locally in your browser. We do not currently use advertising cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising. Because there is not yet a uniform industry response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, our site does not respond differently to those signals; the practices described in this policy apply.
6. When we share information
We may share only what is reasonably necessary with service providers that help us host, secure, communicate, process payments, fulfill orders, or provide customer support. These may include Cloudflare, Square, email-delivery providers, suppliers, carriers, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or complete a business transaction such as a merger or asset transfer.
We do not currently sell personal data, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or knowingly use personal data for targeted advertising.
7. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including account administration, fulfillment, warranties, dispute resolution, tax and accounting records, security, and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you, subject to identity verification and legal exceptions. You may also ask about our data practices. Email rich@buffalorainharvesters.com or call 903.907.5044. If we deny a privacy request, you may appeal by emailing the same address with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line and explaining your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
9. Children
The website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided such information.
10. External services
Some pages may link to or embed services such as YouTube, Facebook, manufacturer documents, or other third-party resources. Those providers may receive technical information when you interact with their services, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. Material changes will apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
